He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repays us according to our iniquities.  For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.  As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

–Psalm 103:10-13, ESV

I don’t know about you, but

I know all about you.  Maybe not enough to turn you into the CIA or FBI or even local law enforcement, but I know all about you.

I know you’re a sinner.  I know that because you’re a sinner, you sin.  Ducks quack, cows moo and sinners…sin.

I know that the wrath of God is being poured out against all unrighteousness…both yours…and mine.

I know that when one has faith in Christ who is the promise of God that the wrath that would otherwise be theirs is actually poured out upon Christ.

I know that repentance is a fruit of the gift of repentance being given by God to the ex-goat…the ex-son of disobedience…the ex-child of wrath.  I also know that trust in Christ is a gift, too.

So, repent of your sin.  And believe the good news:  that Christ came into the world to save sinners so that you may sing the 103rd Psalm with the rest of the redeemed throughout the ages…great is His steadfast love for us who are His children, to those who fear Him.
